Chris is the new King of RnB. No other current male rnb singers are on his level, including that queen John Legend. Chris’s music is not as good as it used to be lyrically but that is normal considering that he is not getting the label’s financial support to pay writers and producers like he did when he was in his prime.

    • Shayla Queen June 29, 2019

Shut up and bow down b|tch! Domestic abuser loving old h**!

      • Jasmine June 29, 2019

Go drown in some R. Kelly urine, choke on Chris’s pencil d|ck, and drink one of Cardi’s drugged cocktails u old t***** loser.

    • Interac June 29, 2019

You’re blaming his lack of lyrical content and exploration of more mature subject matters on the lack of funding from his label? That makes no sense. If this is the logic, consider that they let him release 30+ songs on one album, when they could have invested all of that into 12 really good songs.

      • Jasmine June 29, 2019

You answered your question. With pure sales of only 45K and a newly negotiated contract where Chris owns a large percentage of all his masters the label has no incentive to fund his music or provide A&R. He is over 30 and the label is just sitting back collecting money off of his low sales and distribution fees while providing little to no support. Chris is who he is. He is uneducated and a drug addict. He does not have the maturity, education, or wit to write the sophisticated lyrics you would get from writers like Brian-Michael C** or Antonio Dixon or Johntá Austin, etc (is the people who worked on his first two albums). He is working with low budget writers and starving producers now because he likely is paying out of his own pocket for the songs.

    • Lol June 29, 2019

First of all, what does John legend have to do with anything? Secondly, if this loser is the king of R&B music to you you obviously don’t kno anything about music.

      • Jasmine June 29, 2019

Everybody has their moments. From 1988 to 1989 Bobby Brown dethroned legendary Michael Jackson as the King of RnB. In the 90s R. Kelly became the King of RnB.

Think about it this way. If Chris Brown is not the King of RnB right now who is? Thus, he is the current King of RnB.

    • Tino June 29, 2019

LMAO King of R&B?? He has to put out albums with 40 plus tracks just to get his streaming numbers up cause he knows pure sales will flop which basically what this album its lol. This dude have 9 albums that combined haven’t sold 20 million LMAO STOP

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

You are living in the past. No RnB acts have sold that many millions since the 90s. Chris is the top selling and streaming male RnB artist of the past 5 years.

      • Caleb June 30, 2019

        @ Jasmine
“You are living in the past. No RnB acts have sold that many millions since the 90s.”

Have you forgotten about Usher? One album he has sold over 10 million in the US in the 2000s.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

@Caleb early 2000s aka close to the 90s still. Fast forward to 2019 and no RnB artists sell that much in the past 15 years!

    • Tino June 29, 2019

Bobby Brown didn’t dethrone s*** with that damn one major album cause Michael Jackson is the King of POP meaning popular music not just R&B. CB must’ve gave you some coke lol

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Yes Bobby Brown certainly dethroned Michael Jackson from 1988 to 1989. The charts don’t lie. That was the time period when urban audiences shifted from wanting the good wholesome RnB music acts like MJ provided and Bobby delivered that street edge coupled with smooth RnB tracks produced by Babyface and LA Reid. Bobby was King if RnB for a couple years. Michael did not release an album between 1987’s Bad and 1991’s Dangerous so it was Bobby who held down the King of RnB title for a couple years in Michael’s absence.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

And when Michael came back with 1991’s Dangerous he incorporated some of the street edge Bobby had into his own music.

      • Fancy BISH June 30, 2019

I love that you two are debating over CLASSIC ISH lol…so many times on this site we debate over that BULLISH ? Don’t Be Cruel is pure ? and MJ clearly was influenced by it as well as Rhythm Nation 1814 ? Dangerous is the biggest selling New Jack Swing album of all time so MJ was definitely in the mood to dethrone somebody! Y’all can debate whether it was King Bobby or King Damita Jo ???

      • SMH June 30, 2019

You are DELUSIONAL. Bobby Brown never dethroned anybody, especially Michael Jackson. Stop with the nonsense.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

        Thank you Fancy

    • Wordonthestreet June 30, 2019

This album is AWFUL! i like chris but this sounds rushed and rehashed, only one or two tracks were of value.. Its a NO for me Chris

    • Tino June 30, 2019

Girl what are you talking about?? DO YOUR RESEARCH. Multiple artist from the 00’s and 2010’s have sold multi millions. I sad his 9 albums combined haven’t even sold 20 million lol

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

You should take your own advice and RESEARCh. You accuse him of low sales from 9 albums but that simply is NOT TRUE. Chris Brown is and has always been a singles artist. The old school mentality of an RnB act releasing an album and the album selling millions ended in the 90s. Singles and streaming is where it is at and that is where he excels. Hell, he’s not even a 90s artist in the 1st place so using that old school way of thinking just to put him down is nonsense because that is not how the music industry works these days.

Chris Brown has released nine studio albums, ten mixtapes, one hundred and sixty-one singles and nineteen promotional singles. According to Billboard, Brown has the seventh most Hot 100 entries on the chart with 94. As of August 2017, he has achieved 42 top 40 entries on the Hot 100. Brown is the singer with the fifth-most consecutive weeks on the Hot 100 chart (161 weeks). According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), he is the tenth-best-selling digital single artist in the United States with sales of 50 million.

    • Tino June 30, 2019

One album and brief era doesn’t make you King of anything. You earn that with multiple successful albums not just one.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Cmon now it’s a revolving title. Someone will always step up and claim that title. You are discrediting Bobby Brown and the great work that was done on that album. EVERY song on that album was a hit. That was Bobby’s moment and he OWNED it.

      • Fancy BISH June 30, 2019

@Jasmine, I fully agree! Don’t Be Cruel was a phenomenon! It (and of course Thriller) set the tone for just about every mega successful pop/R&B album after it to this very day! Bobby made it possible for male R&B artists to be REAL and more street…you didn’t have to be MJ and Prince with a Jheri Curl anymore ? Don’t Be Cruel was the overall best selling album of 1989! It ended the 80’s with a certified BANGER! ? How and why it wasn’t even nominated for Album Of The Year at the Grammys is truly on some BULLISH ? ? But anyway, I look at Don’t Be Cruel in the same way I look at Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid In Full…when an album is THAT influential and LIT, what more do you really have to DO? ??

      • SMH June 30, 2019

Oh please, Don’t Be Cruel was not that impactful, it was just one of many male R&B albums of that time. Try doing more research other that the Bobby Brown movie on BET ???‍♂️

      • Fancy BISH June 30, 2019

@SMH, you must be crazy! ? Had the nerve to say do more research and receipts are available for you all over the INTERNET ? Girl, this isn’t the stone ages! Don’t Be Cruel sold over 7 million copies in the United States alone and you have the NERVE to say it was just another R&B album and wasn’t impactful? There aren’t many artists who’ve EVER achieved that, point blank period! Boo bye, Whitney knew who she married lol ? And it wasn’t “just another” artist! Now, I’m through witchu! Jasmine, come get this one ? ? ?

    • Tino June 30, 2019

Usher is still the King of R&B and let me give you facts. Usher has nearly 80 million albums with 9 Hot 100 number 1’s and 13 R&B and hip-hop number 1’s. This decade alone Usher Hot 100 number 1’s one CB none, Usher R&B and hip-hop number 1’s 3 CB 2. Now Usher has been out almost 30 damn yrs but CB is in has prime lol NO DEBATE

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Usher was never King of RnB. I love me some Usher but he fell off. Way off. He is not relevant anymore. He could have been King of RnB during his Confessions album era but just like in the 90s he was ALWAYS overshadowed by R. Kelly and other male artists like Michael Jackson. Remember, everyone has their moments and no one is King forever. Usher should be King of RnB right now but he is not putting out music on the same level or better than Confessions. Thus, it is Chris who consistently puts out relevant albums, successful tours, and is relateable to both the old and current generation. Chris would not be my choice for King of RnB but it is what it is. I’m not going to discredit the current generation’s lack of taste when it comes to music. The charts don’t lie. Obviously, Chris is what they like and there are plenty of old people listening to his music too.

      • SMH June 30, 2019

Um excuse me but take Chris Brown’s d*** out your mouth and do your research. During Confessions NOBODY overshadowed or had a steel grips on the charts over Usher. He was running both R&B and pop with that album, the last album by a black man to sell Diamond in PURE SALES. You can sit and delude yourself all you want, but fact remains that Usher was and still is King of R&B. Chris Brown will always be his lesser student.

      • Caleb June 30, 2019

Right?! People forget Usher was out a whole decade before Chris and he’s sold tens of millions more albums.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

If you ain’t making hits you ain’t doing sh|t. Usher is not the Ling of RnB because he is not relevant anymore! Nobody has the title forever. Chris dethroned Usher and that is a fact. Maybe Usher can make a comeback by opening for Chris on his next tour lol.

    • Tino June 30, 2019

Wait you said Usher was almost King when he’s sold more albums and have more number 1’sthan any male artist of his generation lol SMH Usher didn’t fall off he got older, no great artist have remained highly successful and active after being out for 20 years not even Michael Jackson or Prince. Even still this decade Usher has more number 1 songs than CB Who you say is King LMAO. CB isn’t putting out any classialbums or songs, most his albums have flopped lol. He’ll never see the amount of Usher has see.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Beyonce been around 20 years plus and she is still relevant and highly successful. Same goes for Jay-z. Michael Jackson was around 34 years and relevant and successful. I get it that you are an Usher fan. I like him too. Just because u are a fan don’t mean u have to lie on other artists to promote ur fav. The issue is bigger than our little debate. When Usher was in his prime music was selling millions. Now it sells for pennies on the dollar and in many cases free (is streaming and bundles). Thus, being a King if anything is not limited to the sales of an album format. The current King of RnB is Chris Brown. If Usher was King it would have been around the time of his Confessions album. That was a great era for him and I wish he had another great era like that. He could easily snatch the King of RnB title from Chris by putting out another great album and tour to get the current generation singing him praises just like your generation did with Confessions. Chris is only the current King by default (lack of competition).

      • SMH June 30, 2019

Girl just stop. Usher still stands as the current King of R&B. He has sold more than Chris Brown and beyonce COMBINED, he has more hits than both of them COMBINED, and he’s in the top 5 of every Greatest Artists of All Time list that comes out, and he always places higher than any act that has come out in the last 20 years. Usher is still King, just because you can’t accept it doesn’t change the facts.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Usher who? He is like Boyz II Men, R. Kelly, and Luther Vandross….aka…legendary artists of the PAST. Chris is relevant to both the old and new generation. Usher hasn’t had a hit in the past 15 YEARS! Chris Brown has over three times as many top 10 singles as Usher.

    • Tino June 30, 2019

So Bobby Brown was King after one major album and now CB is King after flops of generic music?? Meanwhile Usher is the guy who’s outsold both Bobby and CB combined lol. You’re delusional I’M DONE

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Bobby had a long track record of both solo and group success in New Edition before 1988. He was The King of RnB from 1988 to 1989. Why are u trippin over that? That was Bobby’s moment and he owned it. The numbers don’t lie. How do u think he got the attention of the reigning Queen of Pop Whitney Houston at the time? Bobby was the man back then.

      • SMH June 30, 2019

Stop lying. Bobby Brown had only one hit album for only one year. That does not make you a king. He was never the king of R&B, he only thought he was, nobody else in the media ever acknowledged that he was king of anything.

      • whut June 30, 2019

As someone who actually grew up in the 80’s and 90s I can assure you that it was Luther Vandross who was the King of R&B at that time, certainly not Bobby Brown.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Luther might have been Queen of RnB but certainly Bobby was the official RnB King between 1987 to 1988 as his style of music which incorporated a street edge (aka new jack swing) dominated the RnB charts leading into the 90s. Remember, this was the same time period as people began calling Michael whitewashed because of his skin bleachings and Whitney got boooed for sounding to white. The public wanted something new, different, and edgy and that was Bobby Brown!

    • Interac June 30, 2019

If you are indeed right about his label situation and Chris couldn’t put his own money into decent writers and producers than that’s his problem, not the label. If after all these years he doesn’t want to invest in himself, he’s the problem. I’m sure he has the money and the connections to do so. Those writers and producers you named work with artists who are independent.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

So if Chris don’t do what you say and think then he is the problem? No he is doing what he wants and so should u. Why don’t u go work with those writers and producers u “think” Chris should be working with instead.

    • Shayla Queen June 30, 2019

Except you’re the one drinking urine from R. Kelly AND Chris Brown because you support abusers you ugly ashy urine-stank old ass clown. Now put the p|ss bucket down that you dip your raggy sponge in to wash yourself with because you’re a broke ashy old nobody without a pot to p|ss in (no pun intended) and respect bow down to the real and one and only Queen on this blog and that’s Shayla. And tell your momma she is fired from cleaning my dog’s p**** with her tongue.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Lol I saw you and your mom yesterday digging in the dumpster looking for food. I thought y’all got free food at the homeless shelter where u stay or did they kick u out of the shelter for smuggling in meth again? U must be on meth if u think u can speak to me like that u tired t*****! U need to go to rehab! Just because Rupaul rejected u from Drags Race the eleventh time does not mean u have no worth lol.

    • Shayla Queen June 30, 2019

Transphobic aswell as homophobic, broke, abuser-loving and still stuck in the projects… You need to fix your ways or that new baby you speak of is me$$ed up before they even had a chance. Brain full of mush from growing up with your delusional and hateful a$$, school dropout, cleaning toilets like your momma and fam. A b|tch like you can never raise his voice to a Queen. Now go change a diaper and stop neglecting your baby to throw insults at Shayla Queen. A p**** a$$ h** could never.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Shut it u old tired t*****. I’m not a bigot nor am I broke. I love all human kind. I don’t care what ur sexuality is because it is none of my business what u do (or who is doing u lol). Remember, u came for me first so I put u in ur place. I see ur comments on other posts and I NEVER respond! When u see my comments U think it is an invitation to come for me. It is not. Stay in your place and fall back on coming for me. We both have viscous words so it is best for us NOT to even communicate. When u see a Jasmine comment from now on ignore it and move along as I have always done when I see ur comments.

    • Shayla Queen June 30, 2019

That rash you have up in your a*** is clearly playing with your mind some! Maybe some advice… stop taking so many d|cks for not so many dolla$! Follow your mom’s trade of cleaning the toilets while you’re taking d|ck in them as she make more money than you do clearly! But seeing as you are backing down by saying we should never communicate because you clearly realised you were dealing with a Queen, i’ll let you raise your white flag and surrender and be gone. Never disrespect me again. Shoo fly ?

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Im not ‘backing down’ u roach. I’m just bored with u. Your constant thirst after me is laughable. My mom is royalty and so am I. It is gutter trash peasants like u that work for us as servants. When are u getting that reassignment surgery? That constant hard-on u have for me is too much.

    • Tino June 30, 2019

CB doesn’t have more top 10 songs than Usher on any chart including the past 10 yrs. Since 2010 Usher number 1’s on multiple charts. Papers, OMG, There goes my baby, DJ got us falling in love, More, Without you, Climb, Scream, I don’t mind and No limit. All more than CB SO STOP LYING

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

I’m not lying about anything. Usher is the past. Chris is the current and future. No matter how hard u try I’m not living in the past like u. Who is releasing albums and touring every year? Chris. Who has NOT been relevant in 15 years? Usher.

    • Shayla Queen June 30, 2019

Bored with me? B|tch you my #1 fan and I’m glad I’m such a positive role model for you to aspire to be! Lord knows you need one! But remember now I am not GOD so I can’t work miracles on your tragic life, I can only advise you and inspire you to do better! YOU have to WANT to change and get the help! May GOD bless you!

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

    Ours is a merciful Lord.

  5. Pedonika June 29, 2019

Wow.. 50k people who would rather spend their hard earned EBT check on trash music instead of food and medicine. Yikes.

  6. tHAT WERQ June 29, 2019

    WERQ!!!!!

  7. Lol June 29, 2019

So he’s using extra songs and ticket bundles to get ahead. Because we all know that if he put out a regular 15 track album he’d sell half as much. I’m surprised he’s even selling 50k cuz no one is talking about him.

    • Jasmine June 29, 2019

Everyone is talking about his summer tour. U must live under a rock.

      • SMH June 30, 2019

Everybody who? Sorry but you don’t count as “everybody” lol.

      • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Everybody is talking about it. All the black radio stations, Twitter, and social media list Chris’s tour as the highest anticipated tour of the summer.

  8. olusheyi banjo June 29, 2019

I listened to the whole album (took me awhile) and as a Chris Brown fan, I can truly say that I am disappointed. It is a good thing that I did not but the album or else I would be mad. This album should’ve only had 12 songs. Overkill the maximum. He’s talking about the same stuff on every track. The title track should’ve been sorry enough, cause that’s what it is..Sorry

    • S.U.P.E.R.S.T.A.R.!. June 29, 2019

@Olusheyi.. – I agree with you about the album’s songs sounding alike due to the topic/subject matter. I took me a long time to finish it too and I must admit it was TORTURE. I also agree that the album should have been reduced to about 12-15 songs.

  9. A&R June 29, 2019

    The album is good.

  10. Repo June 29, 2019

This is a pure flop, but I expect nothing else but that from him so no surprise ??‍♂️ all his generic pop corn music sound the same. #NeXt

  11. Tyty June 30, 2019

Surprising considering he only had one hit song and that was down to drake. I’m not sure what happened to Chris between loyal and now, but his potential and artistic growth has gone down the shithole. He still doesn’t have a classic album. He is talented yet rehashes the same sound and lyrics over and over again. His musical ear definitely left the building. He releases long track albums to cheat his way into big streaming numbers. If he released a normal album he would flop. No reason other than himself he can’t do the weekends or Bruno Mars numbers.

  12. DIABETES UNBOTHERED June 30, 2019

This far better sales than any of the migos and I actually liked sum of the tracks I previewed SURPRISINGLY so. Albeit still a lukewarm album as usual t’s still better than the last one.

  13. SMH June 30, 2019

Flop. If you have to do ticket bundles to sell your album, that’s tragic. All it means is that your album will disappear after a week on the charts (see Madame X). And somebody wants to call him King of R&B? LMAO how disrespectful to the R&B genre.

    • Jasmine June 30, 2019

Lol I love the shade SMH.

  14. Monica’s Dove June 30, 2019

It’ll be forgotten like the rest of his generic albums. Chris has no classic singles, albums, tours or eras. He just throws anything out in hopes that it will stick. When’s the last time he had a hit single? “Loyal”? And that was about 5 or 6 years ago which has also been forgotten. Chris will never be the king of anything until he gets a classic and critical acclaim.

When is the last time Usher had a hit single? 15 years ago! Chris just had a number 1 single earlier this year with Freaky Friday. People love to hate and spew lies to “justify” their hate but the numbers and charts don’t lie! He has lots of classic singles (Run It, With You, Yo, Excuse Me, Loysl, Look At Me Now, etc). He can sing, rap, dance, paint, design, etc. he is truly a talented man so keep seething.

Girl why you keep lying just STOP. Usher has sold more albums and have more number 1 songs than CB the past 10 yrs including this DECADE Usher has a number 1 hot 100 this decade CB has ZERO. Usher has more hot 100 top ten songs. Usher has more R&B and hip-hop number 1’s and more rhythmic chart number 1’s than CB has all since 2010 so STOP LYING

Girl I’m tired of this nonsense. I could dig up James Brown and Luther Vandross and Prince using your logic. You can keep on holding tight to the past. Ain’t nobody dissing Usher. I told u already I like his music. The King of RnB title is available for Usher’s taking but while he goes through his mid-life crisis year after year, Chris Brown is holding down the King of RnB title by default. It is what it is. I never said Chris is deserving of the title. I stated he is the King by default due to lack of competition!

Better than expected. The 37 tracks help a lot on streaming platforms, but 50,000 pure isn’t terrible these days either.

Except each sale of a double album counts as TWO units sold so it’s another trick to cheat the system some more…

Plus a lot of those pure sales come from ticket bundling.

Chris Brown is the king of the current r & b and it is indisputable and is not by default but thanks to his incredible talent and Chris Brown would be even higher if there was no business rihanna and all his woes . Chris Brown excels in everything he is a magician of music. he makes r & b he has revollutionné with his touch of electronics, pop, electronics, rap, soul, he also excels in dance -all, it’s been 30 years that he is present in the game and is still relevant, these concerts are fulfilled because not only does he sing well but he is better at dancing, he’s a real shoman .I dares a lot of people, the industry is sulking since the affair rihanna but it’s a black music icon and precisely the r & b is the best in moment and is not by default. Chris Brown is the king of the r & b and even more, Mj even praised his talent.
